Visiting in-laws, kid home from college and winter weather around the holidays lead to bit of cabin fever so we headed out to Woodstock, Vermont.
Visiting the Billings Farm & Museum, a rural living history museum with sleigh rides, milking sessions with diary cows, historic farm house tours and a museum of farming equipment, we decided to take a side trip on the way out to Sugarbush Farms.
Sugarbush is a cheese making and maple syrup producing farm on the outskirts of Woodstock. While the gang enjoyed the free samples of Vermont cheese, sauces, dips, sausage and syrup in the toasty inside, I stayed outside to photograph the majestic Morgan horses out by the barn.
The third generation Luce Family Farm is famous for its excellent waxed cheeses and pure maple syrup made right on the farm. The 500-acre farm is located on a scenic road in central Vermont just outside Woodstock. You can try free samples of 15 kinds of cheese, 4 grades of maple syrup and the farm store
