Photographs, paintings and drawings are all two dimensional works. Just height and width, no depth. To great a sense of depth and thus make the image more life like, certain tricks can be employed such as linear perspective.
This type of perspective, linear, is the most basic form of perspective in which parallel lines appear to converge in the distance at a vanishing point on the horizon line. You might recall drawing with linear perspective in your art school classes.
Look for linear perspective and leading lines when you are photographing and use them to emphases depth in your photographs. Take the viewer from the front of the image to the horizon or from one corner to another.
