Don’t say nothing happens in the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont, the recent scene of a crime spree.
Police were called to the scene at the Mills Branch Market and Deli in East Randolph, Vermont on the suspicion of three impaired drunks.
As they rolled into the Deli parking lot, they spotted a Jeep spray painted red and the words “Bonnie & Clyde 2021” graffitied across the hood.
The Jeep met the description of a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had been stolen from a home in Pomfret, Vermont the previous day.
The valuable catalytic converter was gone, the tailgate was painted black and the Jeep now had new license plates.
“Bonnie and Clyde” aka Kevin Allen Bent, 32 and Amanda L. Conant, 30 suspects in a string of break-ins in the area due to home security camera video and the fact that stolen items were in the Jeep – were woken by the local police.
Instead of complying to the officers demands that they come out of the car, “Bonnie & Clyde 2021” decide to make a run for it.
Hours later the police caught up with the car after it got bogged in mud and the suspects fled on foot eventually stealing a septic tank truck of all things to continue their flight from the law.
Ditching the truck after probably considering that a large, slow, smelly truck isn’t the greatest getaway vehicle, Bent tried hiding in the East Randolph Baptist church where witnesses gave away his hiding spot to police and he was arrested. His partner in crime is still at large.
