Since 1900, Chico’s natural hot springs, about 30 miles north of Yellowstone National Park has offered the road weary traveler a refreshing dip.
Today, Chico Hot Springs Resort and Day Spa is a
Bullet-ridden vintage metal sign featuring a bathing beauty used to sit at the end of a long road to Chico’s which sometimes doubles as a runway for small aircraft.
This relic of vernacular Americana provides a point of interest in this modern living room showing the fine detail of the old hand painted bathing beauty over metal with locally supplied bullet holes from drunken cowboys leaving Chico’s bar late at night.
Today’s resort still featuring the large and smaller (and hotter) hot spring swimming pools as well as fine dining, a more casual restaurant, bar was well as rooms, cabins and spa treatments. Horseback riding and other activities still abound.
Fine art prints, canvas, museum-quality framed and matted art prints and more are available here – https://edward-fielding.pixels.com/featured/chicos-bullet-hole-sign-mug-edward-fielding.html
