Driving from New Hampshire to Dallas, Texas through rural areas in Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas, I’m perplexed by the math. How does a town of 115 people have 8 churches?
“Hell is Real” says the billboard in Ohio. “Warning! You are going to die!” is another seen as dual trailer tractor-trailers fly by in the passing lane. Is this why there is such an abundance of churches? It’s like there is a BOGO sale on the after-life.
I’ll assume that the goal of a church is to fill the pews. Where do the bodies come from? Anticipation of a future baby boom? Expecting to capture drive-by sinners?
