Mid-Century Modern Patterns for cell phone cases, tote bags, throw pillows and fins art prints by Edward Fielding.
Scandinavian design leads the way – cool, clean, relaxed.
The End of Romanticism
Arts and Crafts movements with the ornate, nature-inspired patterns are replaced with the clean lines of the mass-produced – i.e. accessible to all – furniture and decor of The Industrial Revolution when daily living conveniences were more affordable and more accessible. Modernism was sprouting up everywhere and, fearing a takeover of machines in all aspects of life, an impassioned plea emerged for a return to nature.
Nothing said modern in the mid-century than furnishing and patterns from designers from the Scandinavian region. Clean, minimal interiors with light wood and white or pale colors. Less is more and everything has its place. A Scandinavian interior is a go-to design choice for today’s modern spas. Something about the uncluttered environments and artwork makes for a relaxing setting.
