Hurricane Ian made landfall right on top of Sanibel Island and Fort Myers Beach, Florida. The storm surge was so powerful that only the pilings for the fishing pier remain. The boardwalk, the little souvenir shop, and the covered picnic area at the far end were all washed away.
This fine art photographic print by photographer Edward M. Fielding captures the Fort Myers Beach fishing pier on better days and in a glorious sunset behind Sanibel Island in the distance.
