Show you care – Appreciation gifts for teachers and educators
It’s been a tough couple of years for everyone – students, parents, kids, doctors, nurses, service workers, first responders and especially teachers.
Teachers have had to adapt to ever-changing teaching situations from wearing masks and moving desks apart to trying to teach via Zoom. Plus there are the short-fused and irritated parents trying to juggle work and their kids. On top of that – low-intelligent complainers who show up at school board meetings acting like buffoons.
Let’s give thanks to the people we entrust with educating our children. They don’t get paid a lot so they must be teachers because they love teaching. Tough job, low pay – show a teacher some appreciation.
Both my parents were teachers. My mom was a special education teacher and my dad taught high school history after 22 years in the army. Their teaching careers had high and low moments but overall I think they were proud to be part of these kids’ lives and often were approached by former students and thank. “Thanks for being so hard on me, I learned a lot”. It always seemed that the kids who cause the most problems or were always the ones on the verge of failing are the ones who appreciated the structure and discipline they got at school.
