I have a series of work involving the common household chore of laundry. Keeping things clean and fresh is a daily part of life from brushing our teeth, showering, washing the dog, mopping the floors, changing the linens and of course, doing the laundry.
We’ve come a long way from taking the clothes down to the river and beating them against a rock. Or even taking them out to the backyard to boil them in a pot. Imagine using an old crude washboard or wringer like perhaps our grandparents had.
Now we just toss the clothes into an automatic washing machine, select some computerized setting for fine washables and push a button. Easy peasy except for someone still has to fold the clothes and put them away, until the robots come to our rescue.
