How do you to get a beautifully restored classic car to park on the beach at sunset in front of a Florida palm tree? Well to tell the truth, you luck out.
I spotted this beauty at the beach after photographing the sunset at Bunche Beach in Fort Myer’s, Florida. I only had seconds to compose the shot as people were starting to leave the beach.
I choose a low angle to eliminate the trash cans at the end of the parking lot and pointed my Canon 85 mm set at a low aperture to focus on the steering wheel and throw the rest of the scene into a soft focus. I had my 85 mm on the camera as I was taking family portraits on the beach. This Canon lens is a bargain at less than $400. Every time I use it I come back with some great shots.
The Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Standard & Medium Telephoto Lens is highly practical and ideal for a range of applications including portraiture. Its fast f/1.8 maximum aperture is effective in low light and ideal for shallow depth of field focus control. An ultrasonic autofocus motor (USM) provides fast, smooth and quiet AF action and because the front lens group does not rotate during focusing, polarizing and special filter effects can be used effectively.
