Stepping out of your comfort zone and stepping in front of the camera for a change can be a daunting creative challenge for yourself but one full of rewards.
Beyond the creative skill of coming up with an interesting concept, taking a picture of yourself in the studio can be a huge technical challenge.
With no one else around you’ll have to set up the focus, lighting and figure out a way to trigger the camera.
You can use a stand in like a ladder to judge lighting and to set the manual focus, then set the self-timer and quickly rush into the scene and strike a pose.
Or use a remote trigger to set off the timer to give yourself more time to get into position and figure out your expression. With noone else around you’ll be acting as camera man, director and actor all in one.
