A few years ago after Tropical Storm Irene dropped a ton of water on New England, Vermont was hit especially hard. The valley towns built along rivers and streams found water rushing down the steep mountains and overflowing the rivers.
Over in White River Junction, Vermont where the White River meets the mighty Connecticut River, the power of water knocked around bridge foundations . Amtrak was shut down as the tracks were askew.
Walking around the town surveying the town, I came across this old vintage car in the middle of a field that was covered in silt from recently receded White River.
