The least expensive full-frame camera, the Canon EOS RP

If you are looking to step up to a full frame sensor camera but don’t want to spend a lot of money or buy a big bulky camera, you are in luck. Canon just release the lightest and most inexpensive full framed sensor mirrorless camera, the Canon EOS RP. The Canon EOS RP Body sells for less than $1,300 for the body only.

The box includes an adapter that makes older EF lens work with the new camera. Or you can buy the new R mount lens but only a few exist so far and they are prolevel lens. If you want to buy the less expensive amateur level lens or your existing lenses, you can use the adapter.

The sensor in the Canon EOS RP is the same as the one in the Canon EOS 6D Mark II Digital SLR Camera Body – Wi-Fi Enabled.

They have basically taken the same sensor but given the Canon EOS RP and upgraded processor, removed the mirror and prism and made the whole thing more portable and travel worthy.

The body is so small that Canon offers a little body extender to add on if you find your pinky slipping off the bottom of the camera.

The new Canon RP is significantly smaller than the camera it steals a lot of its technology from – the Canon EOS 6D Mark II.
