Washington, DC is a a challenge to photograph. Between all of the construction (the Washington Monument is still fenced off due to earthquake damage), the swarms of eight-grade school trips and the heightened security – it can be tough to get the angle you want.
Besides, the famous monuments and buildings have been shot so many times, it can be challenging to get a unique shot. On this visit I met up with an old friend who introduced me to some neighborhoods in The District that few tourists find – Georgetown, Chinatown, Shaw, Dupont Circle, Union Market, Brookland and beyond.
